The Celebration of the Coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of the Universe
The Chaldean Archdiocese of Erbil celebrated the Feast of Mary, Queen of the Universe at St. Joseph’s Novitiate of the Chaldean Daughters of Mary on Wednesday May 31st, 2023. The celebration started with the Rosary prayer, followed by a Marian Meditations for the month of Mary and the Litany of Our Blessed Mother, as well as the Coronation of Our Lady’s statue. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Grace Archbishop Bashar Warda, with Fr. Samir Slewa and Fr. Shwan Hanna. The Parish Priests of the Archdiocese of Erbil also attended this celebration along with Fr. Ephrem Geliana, head of St. Peter’s Seminary, Fr. Dhiaa Shammas, Fr. Bashar Basil, Fr. Adam (Sleman) and the Seminary students. Parishioners from different parishes within the Archdiocese, and religious sisters from several congregations joined this celebration, which was concluded with a procession from the Monastery to Sts. Peter and Paul Church, carrying the statue of the Blessed Virgin.
The Archdiocese of Erbil celebrates this feast and concludes the Month of Mary (May) each year at the Novitiate, making this event a big archdiocesan celebration.
