Laying a Cornerstone for the Church of the Virgin Mary in the Village of Armota

On January 30, 2023, His Excellency Archbishop Bashar Warda laid the cornerstone of The Church of the Virgin Mary at Armota. People of the village and a delegation from Koysanjaq representing formal and government events were present to witness the occasion.

Archbishop Warda welcomed the attendees from the village of Armota and the official delegation, blessing the project which came as a result of pastoral care and great necessity for the people of Armota. His Excellency expressed his happiness for being with the people of the village, as this project marks the first step for returning Christians, not only in Armota but in all Christian villages of the region.

Archbishop Warda emphasized that the struggles faced by the people of the village are a lesson of holding on and preserving the faith.
With plans to be fully constructed by coming September, the building will be consecrated, and a cornerstone for the Church of St Joseph in Koysanjaq will be laid marking this milestone for Armota.
