First Lecture for AYM 2023 Volunteers on the Theme of Free Service

Under the title “Free Service in the Church: AYM 2023 Volunteers”, a lecture was delivered by Fr. Savio Handula, St. Joseph’s Parish Priest for the volunteers of Ankawa Youth Meetings 2023, on April 20th. 

The lecture was about the theme of “Service” in the Holy Bible, both the Old and New Testaments and how this idea started in the Bible. 

Fr. Savio emphasized that everything is given to us humans freely and as a grace from God. Hence, the service in which we serve others flows from faith and is driven by it. 

Fr. Savio also highlighted “You were given freely thus give freely”. And this was the very act by which the early Christians acted; they lived a life of community, and for the sake of community service. 

Fr. Savio encouraged the youth to continue to give and serve unconditionally, and to promote for this concept among each other. 

At the end of the lecture, Ms. Vina, the coordinator of AYM committees, presented a brief summary about the theme and idea of this year’s AYM.
