AYM is the largest meeting for Christian youth in Iraq; started in 2013 by the Archdiocese of Erbil, the initiative has been met with wild success resulting in subsequent celebrations in 2018 and 2019 and resumed in 2022 following COVID-19 delays, until this year 2023.
Under the title of “Communion and Participation” Ankawa Youth Meetings (AYM) were launched in the summer of 2022, bringing together youth from different Chaldean dioceses across Iraq. The topic of this years AYM was derived from the “Synod on Synodality” which was launched by Pope Francis for the years 2021-2023
Under the title of “Christus Vivit” Ankawa Youth Meetings (AYM) were launched in the summer of 2019, bringing together youth from different Chaldean dioceses across Iraq. Around 1000 young people participated in AYM, as well as the participation of Jesuit Fathers from Egypt.
Under the title of “The Call to Holiness” Ankawa Youth Meetings (AYM) were launched in the summer of 2018, bringing together youth from different Chaldean dioceses across the country. Like 2013, AYM had different pastoral activities, lectures, and prayers.
