On January 13, 2023, The Youth Committee of the Chaldean Archdiocese of Erbil held its first preparatory meeting for Ankawa Youth Days 2023, which will be held on June 29 and 30, and will be concluded with a celebration of the Divine Liturgy on July 1, 2023.
The meeting was chaired by the Archbishop of the Archdiocese, His Grace Archbishop Bashar Warda, in the presence of Father Dinkha Abd al-Ahad, the supervisors of the youth committee, and the members of the committee.
The attendees discussed the proposed program, the preparatory committees, the events and activities that correspond to the theme of the youth days, which will be devoted to “Contemplating the Mystery of the Eucharist”.
Like every year, the Youth Committee has devoted some time within the program for a Holy Hour: Eucharistic Adoration and confessions. Along with a hymns evening, competitions regarding catechism information, Christian formation lectures conducted by the clergy and other activities and contests.
Moreover, there will be a daily mass celebrated on the second day, in each parish within the archdiocese.
It is worth noting that these days are considered a distinguished spiritual and pastoral celebration, in which more than 1,700 young men and women participated last year.
