The Second Day of the Conference on Personal Status Law for Christians in Iraq

On May 28, 2024, The Conference on Personal Status Law for Christians in Iraq resumed for the second day at the Catholic University in Erbil.

The second session was delivered by the Judge of the First Personal Court in Baghdad, Mr. Ahmed Jaseb, where he spoke about Judicial Applications and Religious Freedom, Article 26 of the Unified Card Law.

Following, leading the third session was H.G. Archbishop Jihad Battah, where he talked about the Personal Status Law in Syria. Moreover, the third session was was conducted by Fr. Rimon Jirjis, as he highlighted Believers’ Rights between the Church and the State.

Later, the fifth and last session of the second day was led by Fr. Jean Al Hashim, who addressed the Personal Status Law of the Catholic Church in Lebanon.

Throughout the sessions, bishops, clergy, judges, lawyers and judicial specialists participated actively in the discussions and dialogues presented.
