The Conference on Personal Status Law Christians in Iraq Resumes for the Third Day

On May 29, 2024, The Conference on Personal Status Law for Christians in Iraq resumed for the third day at the Catholic University in Erbil. 

The third day started with the sixth session, which was led by Judge Elie Bakhaazi, who spoke about the Personal Status Law for the Greek Orthodox Churches. Following, Dr. Joseph Yaqoub Matli conducted the seventh session about the Personal Status Law of the Syriac Orthodox Churches. Furthermore, the eighth session was delivered by Fr. Aktham Hajazeen, who highlighted the Personal Status Law for Christians in Jordan. Concluding the day with the ninth session, Judge Tarza Salar emphasized the topic of Women’s Rights: in the context of Non Muslim Women. 

The attendees had an active participation in discussing and presenting different perspectives into the sessions.
