The Archdiocese of Erbil Celebrates Christmas Carols and Nativity Grotto Opening.
The faithful filled St. Joseph Cathedral on Friday, December 13, attending the Christmas Carols Concert to ring in the new liturgical year.
The Christmas Carols Concert was organized and prepared under the initiative of the Archdiocese with a children’s choir featuring youth from many parishes including Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Joseph, St. George, and St. Peter and Paul. The choir’s joyful hymns of the Advent season, filled the Cathedral with festive spirit and reverence.
After listening to the hymns, attendees headed to the Cathedral gardens for the opening of the Nativity Scene led by His Grace Archbishop Bashar Matti Warda, clergy, and religious.
Afterward, attendees explored the charity market organized by the youth of the Archdiocese and hosted by young adults from St. Joseph’s. The market featured a variety of items, including food, decorations, clothes, and accessories, with proceeds going to support charitable initiatives.
