“Christian Education and the Life of the Teacher” Focus of an Educational Gathering for Christian Education Teachers at the Apostles Church Center
The Central Education Committee held a comprehensive educational gathering on Tuesday, May 5, at the Apostles Church Center, with the participation of 51 male and female teachers from the various levels of Christian education (elementary, intermediate, and secondary).
The meeting was held under the title “Christian Education and the Life of the Teacher,” inspired by the teachings of His Holiness Pope John Paul II on “Catechesis in Our Time.” The lecture was delivered by Father Fadi Leon, who focused on the importance of adopting an integrated educational approach rooted in a living experience of faith that leads to a deep and conscious ecclesial communion.
Father Fadi pointed out that the Christian education teacher is called to be a living witness to the divine mysteries, not merely a theoretical transmitter of them, but an active participant in them through faith and awareness, capable of conveying them to students in a clear and fruitful educational manner.
The gathering also emphasized that the teacher’s mission goes beyond simply transmitting knowledge, becoming instead an educational, human, and spiritual mission aimed at accompanying students in their journey of faith and building mature personalities deeply rooted in the life of the Church.
The meeting concluded by affirming that Christian education is a complete salvific journey that seeks to form believing generations, steadfast in hope and active in love, making the teacher’s mission a sacred responsibility and a fundamental role in building both the Church and society.
