On January 13, 2023, The Youth Committee of the Chaldean Archdiocese of Erbil held its first preparatory meeting for Ankawa Youth Days 2023, which will be held on June 29 and 30, and will be concluded with a celebration of the Divine Liturgy on July 1, 2023.

On December 24, 2022, H. G Archbishop Bashar Warda headed the Christmas Vigil Mass at St Joseph’s Chaldean Cathedral along with the deacons and the main choir, in the presence of civil officials and more than 1500 people of the faithful laity.
As part of their monthly campaign, al rahma foundation distributed food packages for poor families in Ankawa. 400 packages were delivered for 400 families, and for the occasion of Christmas and the New Year, the food packages were doubled compared to last months.
On December 23, 2022, the Catechism committee of the Archdiocese of Erbil organized a wonderful Christmas celebration for the elementary stage catechism students, at the catechism center.
The Christmas Carols service was organized and prepared under the initiative of the Archdiocese’s children choirs from the parishes of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St Joseph, St George and Sts. Peter and Paul.
On the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, celebrated on December 8, which is also a big feast day for the the Chaldean daughters of Mary, Archbishop Warda celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St Joseph’s Novitate for the Chaldean Daughters of Mary.
On November 15, 2022, under the grant entitled “Support to American-Style Higher Education in Iraq” awarded by the U.S. Department of State, a delegation from the Catholic University in Erbil (CUE)

Since establishing the Achdiocese’s Catholic University in Erbil, H.E. Mar Bashar Warda has always worked with many efforts to provide opportunities of education to youth. He stated “Educational institutions make one’s country into the superpower that it is. Educational systems empower and form the young to build the country whilst at the same time build themselves.”
