The Parish of Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles Holds a Celebration for the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul arabic
The Parish of Saints Peter and Paul in Ankawa held a special two-day spiritual and family festival in celebration of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul. The event featured a variety of spiritual, cultural, and recreational activities that brought together members of the parish in an atmosphere of joy and unity.
This year’s celebration was held under the theme: “You Are Not Your Own” (1 Corinthians 6:19), and the program officially began on June 28.
The first day of the festival, Saturday, June 28, opened with a group prayer in the church hall, followed by liturgical prayers led by the deacons, accompanied by symbolic explanations of the event’s theme. Brother Manhel then delivered a spiritual lecture titled “You Are Not Your Own” (1 Corinthians 6:19), focusing on the true spiritual meaning of belonging to God — the central theme of this year’s festival.
Afterwards, the charity market was inaugurated. The first day concluded with a choral evening of hymns presented by the parish choirs, along with fun games and activities for children that brought joy and delight to all participants.
On the second day, Sunday, June 29, the celebration began with a festive Holy Mass presided over by His Grace Archbishop Bashar Matti Warda, with the participation of Fr. Samir Sliwa, parish priest, and Fr. San Kaka, assistant parish priest. Following the Mass, the parish brotherhood presented a spiritual play that was well received by the audience, followed by religious competitions and entertainment activities for children.
The festival concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners in an atmosphere filled with gratitude and renewed faith.
