Spiritual & Educational Catechism Camp

From July 15 to 19, 2024, 300 catechism students aged 16 to 18 gathered at St. Peter and Paul Church in Erbil, Iraq, for a five-day Spiritual and Educational Catechism Camp. The camp focused on faith, reflection, and community, centered around the theme “The Effect of Social Media on Our Lives and Spiritual Formation.”

Each morning featured a focused four-hour session where students, guided by catechists, explored questions like: How can social media be a force for good? Can it help spread God’s word? How do we balance its benefits with distractions? Through open discussions, relatable examples, and personal reflection, the lessons were both practical and engaging.

Alongside the learning, the camp included social and entertainment activities, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. Through thoughtful lessons, prayer, and fellowship, the camp equipped students to navigate their digital lives while still staying rooted in their faith.
