Palm Sunday Procession at the Archdiocese of Erbil

And the crowds that went before him and that followed him shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

“The people of Christ are joyful today”, while chanting the most well-known hymns of Palm Sunday, a big crowd of the faithful participated in the Palm Sunday procession on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, which was organized by the Archdiocese of Erbil. H.G. Bashar Warda, Archbishop of the Archdiocese, led the procession along with Syriac Catholic Archbishop, H.G. Nizar Nathaneal, as well as clergy and religious members. 

The Catechism Committee of the Archdiocese led the catechism students through the procession as they were chanting hymns of joy for this day. Moreover, the procession started at Mar Shimoni Church all the way to Mar Elia Shrine, were the celebration concluded.
