Chaldean Archdiocese of Erbil Celebrates Ordination of a New Priest

On October 21st, 2023, His Grace Archbishop Bashar Warda ordained deacon Rebeen Zaki Habeeb Khorani, to the priesthood, at St. Joseph’s Chaldean Cathedral.

Among the attendants were the most reverend archbishops: Archbishop Thabet Habeeb, Archbishop of Alqosh; Archbishop Azad Sabri, Archbishop of Duhok; Archbishop Nathanael Ajam, Archbishop of Erbil of the Syriac Catholic Church, and Archbishop Timothaus Daniel of the Ancient Church of the East; along with clergy, religious sisters, and the lay faithful.

Deacon Rebeen was born on March 1st, 1994, to a pious Chaldean family from Shaqlawa. He completed his secondary education in 2011, and in the same year joined the Neocatechumenal Way. He entered the seminary of Redemptoris Mater in Murcia, Spain in 2013. He studied Philosophy and Theology at the Institute of San Fulgencio in Murcia, for 6 years. He was ordained a transitional deacon on December 11th, 2022.
