The Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Congregation Celebrates the Feast of Its Patron in St. Joseph Cathedral, Ankawa.
Celebration of the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
In an atmosphere filled with faith and joy, the Congregation of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus celebrated the Holy Mass on the occasion of the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the patron of the congregation, on Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Joseph Chaldean Cathedral in Ankawa.
The celebration was presided over by His Excellency Bishop Mar Bashar Matti Warda, accompanied by several priests of the Eparchy, as well as religious brothers and sisters, in the presence of a large gathering of the faithful.
The celebration was preceded by the recitation of the Rosary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Rite of Eucharistic Benediction. It concluded with a solemn Eucharistic procession, accompanied by hymns and prayers that reflected the profound love and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
On this blessed occasion, prayers were offered that the Sacred Heart of Jesus may pour out His love and mercy upon all families, becoming a source of peace and unity in their homes and a support for believers in facing the challenges of daily life.
At the conclusion of the celebration, Sister Samar Sacred Heart, Superior General of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, expressed her gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency Bishop Mar Bashar Matti Warda, Fr. Savio Handola, parish priest, and all those who contributed to the success of this spiritual occasion.
She emphasized that the blessing of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a renewed invitation for families to live mutual love in a spirit of faith and hope, and to remain witnesses to God’s presence in their daily lives. She added that this blessed feast continues to be a sign of hope and light accompanying the faithful on their spiritual and social journey.
