Welcoming Father Ryan Bakos to the Chaldean Archdiocese of Erbil

With great joy, the Chaldean Archdiocese of Erbil warmly welcomes Rev. Fr. Ryan Bakos to the presbyterate of the Archdiocese, following his appointment as Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Ankawa.

Rev. Fr. Ryan was born on 31 January 1986. He entered the seminary in 2007 and completed his studies at the seminary and at Babylon College of Philosophy and Theology, graduating in 2013. He was ordained an Evangelical Deacon on 25 July 2014, and was ordained to the priesthood on 25 November 2016.

He began his priestly ministry in the Archdiocese of Baghdad, serving as Associate Pastor at St. George Church until 2018. He was subsequently appointed Pastor of St. Bethion Parish, where he served faithfully and devotedly for eight years.

In addition to his pastoral ministry, Rev. Fr. Ryan has made significant contributions to Christian formation and education. He taught theology of the Holy Trinity at the Christian Education Institute in Baghdad and Heresies at its Basra branch. He also taught Medieval Philosophy at the Fathers’ Institute in Baghdad.

The Chaldean Archdiocese of Erbil extends its warmest welcome to Rev. Fr. Ryan as a brother and priest among the clergy of our Archdiocese. We pray that his ministry at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish may be fruitful and blessed.

May the Lord strengthen him with His grace and make his priestly ministry a source of joy, hope, and spiritual growth for the faithful, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother and Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
