The Fourth Day of the 2025 Festival of the Cross in Ankawa

The joint 2025 Festival of the Cross between the Catholic Eparchies of Erbil continued its celebrations on the fourth day with an atmosphere of joy and Christian unity.

The day began with a marathon for the faithful, in which a large number of youth from the eparchies participated. This was followed by the final football match of the tournament, bringing together the team of the Mosul, Kirkuk, and Kurdistan Eparchy against the Syriac Orthodox Eparchy of Hadiab. The Hadiab team claimed first place.

Later, traditional folk games were held with the participation of teams from the various eparchies, concluding with an award ceremony honoring the winning teams and all participants as a gesture of encouragement and shared celebration.

In the evening, a festive closing concert was presented by local singers, adding a joyful touch to the gathering while maintaining the spirit of unity and the celebration of the Feast of the Cross.

The fourth day of the festival truly embodied the values of Christian solidarity, shared joy, and social openness.
